DriveTube ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to upload videos from Google Drive directly to YouTube without downloading them locally. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Authentication Data

- Google OAuth tokens: We use Google's OAuth 2.0 authentication to securely connect to your Google Drive and YouTube accounts. These tokens are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API and are never transmitted to any third-party servers.

User Profile Information

- Basic profile information: We retrieve your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to display within the extension interface. This information is stored locally and used solely for displaying your account status.

YouTube Channel Information

- Channel details: We access your YouTube channel name and profile picture to confirm you're uploading to the correct account.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

1. Authenticate your identity with Google services

2. Access your Google Drive files (read-only) to retrieve video files you select for upload

3. Upload videos to YouTube on your behalf with the title, description, and privacy settings you specify

4. Display your account information within the extension interface

Data Storage

- All authentication tokens and user data are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's Storage API

- No data is transmitted to our servers. The Extension operates entirely between your browser and Google's APIs

- Data is retained only while you remain signed in; signing out removes all stored data

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties.

The only data transfers that occur are:

- Between your browser and Google's APIs (Drive and YouTube) using secure HTTPS connections

- These transfers are necessary for the core functionality of the Extension

Security

- The Extension does not execute remote code or load external scripts

Your Rights

You have the right to:

1. Access your data: View what information is stored by checking Chrome's extension storage

2. Delete your data: Sign out from the Extension to remove all stored data, or uninstall the Extension entirely
