Keep it
in motion.
Illustrative workflow · .html → .aep
A handoff you can keep editing
Text stays text
Editable text layers with matching fonts when available. Font substitutions are reported.
Layers stay useful
Boxes become shapes, images and video become footage, and nested compositions become precomps.
Motion gets checked
Animation becomes keyframes. Frame comparison helps you see how the export matches your original.
Start your
next workflow
Use Claude Code to run the conversion on your computer, alongside HyperFrames and After Effects.
Add the full folder to Claude Code
Copy the skill source folder, including scripts and references, into:
~/.claude/skills/hyperframes-to-after-effects/%USERPROFILE%\.claude\skills\hyperframes-to-after-effects\For one project, use .claude/skills/ inside the project. Restart Claude Code after installing.
Installing the .skill package in Claude
Download the package, open it in the Claude app and choose “Save skill”. The conversion still needs local access to your project and After Effects; Claude Code is the documented local workflow.
Have these ready
- Node.js 18+ and a HyperFrames project that renders.
- After Effects 2023+ with “Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network” enabled.
- ffmpeg for media conversion and frame comparison.
Tested on Windows. macOS support is included but has not yet been verified.
Open your HyperFrames project
“Convert this to an After Effects project.”
The skill checks your setup, exports the composition, builds the After Effects project and compares frames.
Know what stays approximate
3D transforms flatten to 2D. Gradients and complex shadows become images with animated transforms. Font substitutions and blend modes can change the look.
